Thought for the Day

We're living through a stretch of time that's going to look a lot more significant from the vantage point of the future than it may appear now. If you've ever wondered, "What choices could I have made if I knew how meaningful those days were?" then stop, and think about today, and each day as it comes. Each will carry more momentum of change than the previous one. Each carries a greater calling for awareness and sensitivity to your deepest needs, and those of the people around you. But the bottom line is that we have the opportunity to make choices now that will help change the world, in ways large and small. And we don't have to do it alone.

Aries (March 20-April 21)
If you pay attention, it may become obvious that the thoughts you think are most important force that generates your reality. Often, this is a frustrating notion because, if it's all so simple, then why don't we just have exactly what we want all the time? The reason is that our thoughts exist more fixed in their patterns than we would like to believe. So often, we're trapped in our own minds. But there is progress in the air, and change moving in your soul. In truth, everything you see and everything you know is up for renegotiation and reconsideration, especially your ideas about yourself. This, and nothing else, can lead to progress.

Taurus (April 21-May 20)
If you risk letting go of what you don't want, you also risk gaining what truly you do want. Is that really a risk? Usually, for most people. We're taught to be afraid of what's most important to us, and to hide from our potential. We're taught to be afraid to care. But these are not fears you need to pander to now. You have the power to make the adjustments you need, but there are two conditions. One, this must be the most important thing on your agenda. Two, you can't compromise that which you know is the most vital to you. Okay, three: what you used to want no longer matters.

Gemini (May 20-June 21)
We all struggle with what seems to be the duty to fit our real personality into the box of social rules and artificial concepts, dreaming of originality all the while. That's not going to work for you for much longer, and it would be silly to pretend, because I think you know the truth. The approaching opportunity to redefine yourself is less about breaking the rules, however, and more about making them. Just because you're not the most powerful person in the world doesn't mean you don't have the right to set your own terms. And the under the extraordinary astrology of the moment, anything is possible, so aim high.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You must know you're in a strong position, but it's far stronger than you imagine. Even if you can't see it, other people can see you, and it might help to get a little objective feedback from someone you trust; having a mentor would work very well for you right now. It's possible that one hang-up involves an inadequacy from your past which has led you to believe that you're weaker or needier than you really are. Events of the next few days will do more to help you find the present moment, and free you from your fears, than everything you've experienced in the past few months combined.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 22)
It's not who you know, it's who you are. Who you are is now deeply involved with the one-of-a-kind gift you came here to offer the world. The most important thing to remember is this. Your special place in life has never been occupied by anyone else. And it involves a relationship to something much larger than yourself. That relationship is now changing with a sense of momentum and urgency that may be a little frightening. But you've done your homework. And whether you are aware of it or not, there is a strategy in place that will ease the way for you to offer your special gifts in extraordinary ways.

Virgo (Aug. 22-Sep. 22)
The ride known as your professional life is about to become quite an adventure, if you can have a little patience. I know, you're not a patient person by nature -- though you usually just fake it really well. So, just fake it; that will work just fine as events stranger than you could have reasonably planned for unfold these few days and weeks. The world is changing. There's a new order taking shape. The laws that governed the past are starting to be seen as the shabby excuses for reason that they are. And you are being seen as the leader, of intellect and of conscience, that you truly are.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23)
The real issue is less likely to be false confidence, and more likely to be false lack of confidence. In other words, you have the strength, clarity and intentions you need, if you'll allow yourself to feel the power they can provide you. And you surely have the experience, the respect of your peers, and the pure luck to accomplish your very worthy goals. I know you may be hung up on one particular weakness or vulnerability that you're afraid to even talk about. And there's really no need to, if you'll remember that what you fear is your greatest liability is really your most valuable asset. Funny how that works.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
At long last, you're feeling like you're in your element -- or you can if you'll just relax a little and not put yourself under so much pressure. There's so much rich potential in your life now, though unfortunately, your mind may be dominated by thoughts of devotion to work and the needs of others. I would not be surprised if you feel some kind of obsession to not think of your own interests. This will pass, just in time for a major obstacle to be removed from one particular plan that has seemed to be caught in endless delays. But remember, there is more to life than work, especially now.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22)
There are those times when you want and need to grow, but people don't let you out of their old definitions of who you are. But try as you may, you can't legitimately make that complaint now. Even the most stiff and repressed people walking the Earth are feeling the importance of taking a big step, and of letting others do the same. And this is the formula: as you hold others to their process of becoming, you will move all the more brilliantly in your own. For you who seek true freedom, this is a glorious moment, because the winds of change are fueling the fires of transformation.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20)
If there is a question of responsibility in a relationship, try taking that responsibility. I don't mean blame; I mean the maturity and foresight to gently open the lines of communication and clear any lingering fog that may be present. You are in the perfect position to serve as a facilitator, in both your private and public aspects of life. And I have a hunch you know what's really going on with friends or partners. The people around you may not know how good they have it, but if you listen carefully to what they say, you'll know just what clues to give them so they notice. And in the process, so will you.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19)
There's an old burden that's trying to get your attention, so you can let it go. You don't need it. It's not really your burden, anyway. The problem is, it's been invisible, hidden beneath what you might have typically experienced as a reluctance to have fun or celebrate your life in your way. Over the next few days, I have a feeling you'll gain a lot more insight into the nature of this problem, but today you've got a rare line of view on just why you often feel you have to hold back. I can offer one clue: the whole issue predates your birth, and can't possibly be your fault.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)

For you who live with one foot dangling over the cosmic void, the whole question of feeling safe and secure in our rather uncertain world is very different than most other people experience. But you're now being challenged, by circumstances and by your own heart, to dare to feel the firm ground on which you stand in life. You are being dared to remember you belong here. I trust that you're going well beyond false security, and beyond the palliative of ignoring the tenuous state of affairs on the planet. Real safety is based on faith in yourself. Just remember that faith is something that happens now, not in the future.
