like splayed legs
parting
a splintered smile
a gash
gouge
axed torso
opening jagged
choosing to kill you
when you are waist high
at the womb
this earth
where you grow
to split
like embers
snap
breaking twigs
red limbs
like furred bodies
bending forward to fall
