Hearts and Bones Part Two by Chris

Inspiration, move me brightly
light the song with sense and color,
hold away despair
More than this I will not ask
faced with mysteries dark and vast
statements just seem vain at last
some rise, some fall, some climb
to get to Terrapin

Counting stars by candlelight
all are dim but one is bright:
the spiral light of Venus
rising first and shining best,
From the northwest corner
of a brand-new crescent moon
crickets and cicadas sing
a rare and different tune

Terrapin Station
in the shadow of the moon
Terrapin Station
and I know we'll be there soon

Terrapin - I can't figure out
Terrapin - if it's an end or the beginning
Terrapin - but the train's got its brakes on
and the whistle is screaming: TERRAPIN

Lyrics by Robert Hunter
Music by Jerry Garcia

Sign dates below are approximate. They now overlap by one day. The date and time of the Sun's ingress to the new sign changes a little each year, so please check with an astrologer if you want the exact position of your Sun, and while you're at it, your rising sign -- this horoscope is written for both your Sun and rising signs. If you find that some other sign's interpretations work for you, then go for it.

Eric's horoscopes for Jonathan Cainer, June 5 and June 11,
before and after the June 10 solar eclipse, bookends, as it were.

Readers, please note: There is no weekly horoscope for June 20. The July monthly will be posted on June 27, along with part two of Born in the Sixties. See you then... Happy Sumer Solstice! And thank you for reading. -e.f.

Aries (March 20-April 21)
You would do well to remain in constant contact with your motives. Essentially, you want to be questioning them, but don't let them get suspicious of you. Just observe them, do a little reality-checking, and be on the lookout for the notion of sacrifice influencing you. Sacrifice is potentially the great deceiver right now, since if there was ever a time when you had so much that you didn't need to believe in that old magic, the time is now. However, a transformed idea of sacrifice is making sacred. Stated another way, that is the power to raise the ordinary to the exalted: the power to bless. The image of sacred fire is strong in your chart these weeks, and if you would tend it all the time, you will continue to grow and prosper.

Taurus (April 21-May 20)
This week's eclipse in your extremely sensitive second solar house (Taurus is the second sign, and Gemini is its second solar house, hence, there is a strong resonance between Taurus and Gemini) may still have you feeling a little shaky on your pins. And though I've probably said this a lot of times, the whole growth curve, the lesson, the experience here, is learning to sort out what is important to you from what is not. This is the quest known as values. Values are a great mystery in a culture where most value is transacted on credit with nothing substantial behind it. But there is something very substantial behind your values, if you would only take off your shoes and touch the Earth.

Gemini (May 20-June 21)
Now that external pressures are easing off, you get to make some decisions. But the way your life has been going, and considering the intensity of your emotions, it would be more than practical to get a little advice. Not a lot of advice, and not from a lot of people. Probably a measurable, memorable reflection with someone you know is working on a higher, deeper or more experienced level than you are. Perhaps with someone 50 or older, or perhaps just an old-soul type. The theme is understanding the growth that comes only from long, meaningful struggles, and embarking on the path of what we could call choice with compassion.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Now comes the time of revelation. What emerges and takes shape over the next few weeks will help you solve the mystery of your life over the past few months and, if I may be so bold, years. Easy does it at first; a great deal is still working its way through the etheric or unmanifest worlds, and would be best left alone, and treated with gentleness when you have to handle it all. This goes for your visions, your ambitions, your highest ideals and what is left of your fears. On the deepest level, what has happened is that your fears have been cut off from their life source; they are like ghosts now. To some, ghosts are scary, and to others, they are only slowly dissipating energy. Let them go gently.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 22)
I hope you found recent events and revelations to be pleasantly shocking, though I suspect you may still be a little disoriented. The sheer complexity of what you have experienced is enough to send anyone spinning. I am not sure you see the benefits of what has occurred, or in what you have accomplished, so I suggest you look carefully. Doubt, at the least, needs to be the first thing you doubt. There was something you really had to let go of, an image of yourself, or a fear of people. I am not sure you're entirely through, but you've learned how to do something that you had no clue about before. Practice will help. The time is still ripe.

Virgo (Aug. 22-Sep. 22)
It's been one turning point after the next. One particular project or phase of your experience is completed, even though it may seem a little premature. You can, however, begin to move on now. I see something about going public in your chart, in actually taking what you've been working on so diligently to its intended audience. If this is the case, the stars could not be better: a waxing Moon, Mercury recently gone direct in your 10th house of career and reputation, and more ideas on the way, which will only serve to bolster and affirm what you've already been working on. Steady as she goes. Communicate carefully. Success is inevitable.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23)
With the Sun about to cross the professional angle of your chart and Venus, your home planet, now warming up your house of all benefits, there are few times when you'll have the chance to feel so at home on the planet. But what if not? Why might that be? I would propose that the issue is the fear of people who have come before you. If your life is not really, really good right now, then check in with the fears of your parents and their parents before them. Are you living anyone's prior legacy? Are you living as if it were another time, or as if you were another person, or as if certain facts were not true, and others totally disproven? Are voices in your emotional body preventing you from being you? If so, listen to what they say. Listen to their advice, but don't necessarily take it. All they want is a voice.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
You have the Midas touch: all can turn to gold in your hands. But it won't without the full cooperation of the people closest to you, since this is the gold of alchemy, not the gold of the Swiss banks. In the end, gold is gold, but the real value here is about the process by which it's made. So I suggest that you consider everything you do, everything you create and everything you feel, as part of a relationship. There is, fortunately, no need to worry about whether you will 'succeed'. There is no need to worry about what people think of you. All you need to do is remain in contact.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22)
There is still no telling what will happen. But the mystery is very helpful right now because, in not knowing, you are compelled to look at possibilities beyond what you were seeing in the past. There was a long stretch, I would propose, when you didn't know you weren't looking at the larger possibilities. It may have been as a result of fear; it may have been as a result of holding out hope. But now you have need for neither hope nor fear. All you need is awareness that your life has rich potential, but this is potential with energy behind it, and wisdom, and room to grow, and a touch of miracle.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20)
The worst is over; the real changes have been made. The changes that now follow are a kind of clean-up project, clearing away the debris of what was. Start with the most practical aspects of this -- literally, clearing a floor, a yard, an attic, a file cabinet. The deeper clearing will follow over the next couple of weeks, though notice, as you work on the physical plane, how much deeper material is really involved. Everything in this world has feeling attached to it. Everything has memory. Everything is alive. Including you.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19)
In almost every recent Aquarius horoscope, I've been working to get at the issue that an element of hidden karma -- call it the past, call it something you're carrying from the spirit world -- has been the basis of all your growth work. The underlying theme is that certain events or values imposed on you have prevented you from expressing your deepest joy. But those events or values are now just about finished; their power is diminished; certain aspects will remain as guides and reminders, but the brunt of the work is done. Now, the challenge is exercising your freedom. Exercise programs are best begun slowly, and done regularly. You are on the right track.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)
The more emotional energy you are able to liberate in the coming days, the more your professional life with benefit. But the two actually support one another. Both professional success and emotional clarity are aspects of freedom, and they are, at this particular juncture in your existence, very nearly one and the same. Where they are not, you will know. Where the emotional life interferes what you need to accomplish and prepare for, you will get a signal; where work treads on more sensitive time, you will get the message. But for the most part, there are no distinctions, and this is likely to come as very welcome news.
